On the eve of Mawlid, a parade of m’narette illuminated with candles and filled with sweets and fruits takes the path from the Sidi Ahmed Benyoucef mosque.

The Cherry Festival of Miliana is a socio-cultural event that takes place during the last week of June. It was first celebrated in the aftermath of the country’s independence to allow visitors to discover the customs of the city and taste the various sweets made from cherries. It was interrupted for a decade, then celebrated again as part of a plan to rehabilitate local festivals specific to the Ain Defla province.
